The Valle de Pesé, known as 'the industrial town', is preparing to celebrate the 67th Sugar Cane Festival, to take place from March 14 to 17, 2013.
Over the past week considerable work has been done to set up the stage where the festival queen will be crowned and bands will perform. Remarkably, it is being constructed entirely out of the town's signature product: sugar cane and its derivatives (cores, fibers, bagasse).
The 58th International David Fair is ready to welcome over 300,000 visitors to the 10 day-fair that this year begins March 14 and extends through the 24th.
The fair board affirmed that this activity not only promotes tourism in Chiriquí, but also injects more than $30 million dollars into the provincial economy and creates more than 400 jobs during the ten days of the fair.
