After several weeks of preparation, the long-awaited Miss Panama beauty pageant has reached its final stretch. Ilka Ender, one of the pageant organizers, commented that it has been a very difficult process to select the candidates, as they had to choose only 19 girls out of the 97 who registered for the competition.
The preliminary round is programmed for this coming March 4 at 8:00 p.m. in the Hotel Riu, where 12 contestants will be selected for the grand final, which will take place on April 30 at 8:00 p.m. in the Anayansi Theater.
Panama is part of the plans of two major companies in international aviation.
Both the U.S. company United, which merged with Continental in 2012, and the German airline Lufthansa did not rule out increasing their presence in the Panamanian market. Salvador Marrero, the executive director for United in Central America, explained that the airline manages nine hubs in the United States, and therefore there are possibilities to establish new flights between the two countries.
