Maru Gálvez, executive director of RG Hotels, pointed out that the hotel group has decided to sign a franchise agreement for its property on Playa Blanca with the Wyndham Resorts group, to have it branded Wyndham Grand Beach.
She added that the decision was made in preparation for the upcoming growth expected from the opening of the new Scarlet Martínez airport in Rio Hato, slated to open in February 2013. All of this is complemented by the construction of the airfield which is 15% completed.
DEMAND
With the new airport, demand for hotels in the Playa Blanca area will increase. That's why they have decided to unite with the largest hotel group in the world (by number of rooms), to better position the hotel and compete with other destinations in the region with airports, such as Punta Cana and Cancun, emphasized Gálvez.
The Wyndham Resorts group already has a presence in the country with its Veneto Hotels, Wyndham Garden and the soon to open Tryp, Howard Johnson, Ramada, Wingate and Days Inn, all in Panama City.
With the inclusion of Wyndham Grand, Playa Blanca hotel completes its hotel attraction as a beach hotel.
