Additional destinations will gradually be launched in the same way, such as Pedasí, Bocas del Toro and Chiriquí.
The Discover your Interior campaign will cost approximately B / 330,000. Escape to the Valley will include the participation of 12 hotels, 7 restaurants, 2 spas and 8 other businesses offering activities related with tourism. The package deals offer approximately 20% to 30% discounts. Records received by the ATP from the 2011 campaign for The Valley show that restaurants like O Pedros de Los Mandarinos boosted their sales by 400%. On average the hotels increased their sales by 87%, the restaurants had a 50% raise in income and sites with tourist attractions recorded a 158% increase.
The second destination to be promoted in 2012 will be the Bocas Combo, which combines plane tickets with accommodation in one of 17 hotels. Tour operators for guided trips, diving, and other activities will also participate.
The Bocas Combo additionally offers special packages to sites that are globally recognized, such as Punta Caracol, Tranquilo Bay, and All Natural Resort.
Pedasí is another destination that participates in the Discover your Interior program. In that region eleven hotels will be promoted, and Thrifty car rental will also participate by offering a free day of rental for the purchase of a 3 day package. The promotion also includes discounts at restaurants.
The fourth destination will be “Chiriquí is the Best”, offering services at 25 hotels with lodging packages and flight and accommodation packages.
In this campaign, ATP has included hotels and travel agencies that are registered in their offices.
