The Festival of the Sea will be held from 26 th to 27th January 2013, and the event organizers have told beforehand some of the attractions that visitors , who wish to spend two days of fun,on the sun, beach, with adventure and history, will have.
Activities of the day
Sport and beach activities will be developed, including a "Food Festival" which will include a delicious ceviche( A South American dish of marinaded raw fish or seafood) contest, there will also be fun activities for the family such as contests, rides, treasure hunts and cultural presentations.
During the night
On Saturday night, January 26 th, visitors can enjoy a campfire under the stars and dance on the beach with the famous national artist Samuel Archer and Sweet Caribbean Band, as well as with other national artists, varied disco and DJ on the beach.
Where will be the activities?
All activities will be conducted in the Pier Park area and on Honda beach. There will also be space for small businesses.
It is expected to involve about 6000 people , natives and foregneirs on the island.
Touristic destination near the city
With the Festival of the Sea , the traffic of tourists to the island increased, as the event offers fun and entertainment for the whole family, according to organizers, among which are members of the civil society of Taboga, entrepreneurs (local and foreign) and local government (mayor). In addition, we seek to continue pointing out, in an organized and sustainable way, Taboga Island as a tourist destination for a single day, because of its proximity to the city of Panama.
On the island you can find all the ecological and cultural virtues that have always stood it out as a jewel of the Pacific.
Sea Festival has as it main goal to continue to support sustainable development on the island of Taboga, through training programs and partnerships that enable the touristic, cultural and microenterprise growth for the benefit of f Taboga community.
TABOGA
The Flower Island is 12 miles from Panama City. The boat tour takes approximately 30 -50 minutes - walking past the entrance of the Panama Canal.
It has an area of about 590 hectares, a population of 1,100 inhabitants and a total of 250 homes.
The island has a coastline perimeter of 13 miles .
