Recipe: Bon Bread
Ingredients
1 kg. flour
1/4 kg. butter, room temperature
2 packets of yeast
1 round of solidified sugar cane juice
115 grams raisins
1 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 kg. powdered cheese
1 Tbsp. vanilla essence
1/4 kg. candied fruit
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation:
Dissolve the yeast in two cups of warm water and stir in a third of the flour. Let the dough rise for two to three hours. Melt the sugar cane round and mix into the dough, alternatively adding the rest of the flour, butter, powdered cheese, ground cinnamon, vanilla essence and nutmeg, adding more water if necessary. Cover the dried fruits and raisins in flour and then fold into the dough. Spread into a well-greased pan. Use any leftover dough to form any shapes you fancy, and place them on top as a decoration. Place in an oven preheated to 350 degrees and bake for thirty minutes. Insert a knife to check that it comes out clean and dry, a sign that the bread is ready.
Bon appétit!
