It is also expected that more hotel projects will be added in this touristic area, since tourists would have immediate access, in under half an hour by road, to the nearby hotels, as well as the tourist attractions, like El Valle de Antón.
If the project is successful, it would create direct connections to the country's interior for destinations like Río Hato, Colón and the province of Chiriquí.
The plan to turn Panama into an air hub implies connecting destinations within the country that would otherwise be very difficult to reach in only a few hours.
The immediate benefit will be reflected by connecting airline routes and tourists, in addition to saving time.
The airport will be used to receive charter flights from North America and Canada, with the possibility of opening international flights dependent on the progress of tourism.
