City Carnival expects to receive over 400,000 visitors
The Panama Tourism Authority (ATP) expects that this city carnival will surpass the 400,000 visitors who attended the festivities last year. Thousands of Panamanians from the U.S. are expected to arrive, along with many tourists.
The theme for next year's carnival is in honor of the V Centenary of Balboa's crossing of the Darién, when he discovered the South Sea. Panama will celebrate this grand feat in different ways throughout 2013.
