Despite this, Panama Metro will come out to the field today as the top favorite to win the title. Metro is armed to the teeth with speedy players, well-disciplined in the batting box and with an interesting group of pitchers, which makes them seem complete.
But we can not overlook Chiriquí, which year after year shows the results of the good work done in that province. They will also come eager to win after having lost the final in 2012 to the metropolitan team in six games.
Nor can we forget Western Chiriquí, which presents an interesting group of players who demonstrated their talent upon coming in third place last year. Meanwhile, Los Santos and Herrera will present winning teams, since their lineup includes ball players who dominated in the smaller categories.
Veraguas can not be ruled out, and much less under the leadership of Roberto "Tito" Aizprúa, who has already achieved titles at this level. Coclé and Western Panama will have teams that will fight it out and be tough to beat on their home field. Meanwhile, Colón is a work in progress with young players.
Whereas Bocas del Toro and Darién have much to prove, after coming in last place the previous season.
