More than 100 cultural and natural products from different countries around the world competed for the award in its 13th year. Ana Larragaña, director of this important international showcase for tourism, in the company of Paloma Fernández, adviser of the aforementioned magazine (a leader in the travel industry), presented the award to the ATP Marketing Director, Nixia Lasso.
This distinction was the result of a personalized assessment performed by a group of judges, also taking into account the amount of votes given by readers, the specialized press and industry professionals.
Growing sugarcane in Herrera, making house tiles out of mud and cow patties, sewing traditional Ocú dresses, pottery and cow milking for the regional dairy industry were the stand-out elements of Panamanian tourism portrayed in the magazine Aire Libre.
