21 companies bid to build Panama convention center

The meeting to approve the project "Supervision, Inspection, and Control of the Building and Equipping of the Center for Conventions, Events, and Exhibitions at Amador in Panama" was attended by 21 companies.

The Panama Tourism Authority (ATP) is leading this approximately $195-million project, judged to be necessary based on the country's intense growth in the category of internationally attended events and conventions.

At this meeting, interested companies inquired on technical and legal details of the investment abbreviated at best value, and they requested a 15-day extension before holding the public ceremony.

Construction has already begun on this modern infrastructure, as the consortium PHC-Contrata P&V, S.A. is performing the stage of clearing the land and pile driving for the foundation.
