Cruise Ship season begins in Panama

Today, with the crossing of the Island Princess through the Panama Canal, the cruise season begins and will run through the middle of next year, expecting the crossing of more than 200 hundred passenger ships through the interoceanic highway. The island Princess, from Los Angeles, California heading to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in the United States, marks the beginning of the 2011-2012 cruise season. This cruise ship, owned by the Princess Cruise Line, will make a 14-day voyage. According to Jaime Castillo, international trade specialist from the Panama Canal Research and Market Analysis Office, approximately 205 cruise ships are predicted this season, which will run through the middle of next year.

Among the main cruise ship companies that are considering Panama as a destination and the Panama Canal crossing experience are the following: Holland America Line, Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, and Norwegian Cruise Line, all of which have duration itineraries of 10 days or more.

También se tiene previsto el arribo de embarcaciones con dimensiones menores, tales como el Wind Star y Le Levant. Estos cruceros se desplazan entre las islas caribeñas y las costas este y oeste del istmo centroamericano.

Dos cruceros de la línea Carnival Cruises: el Carnival Inspiration, ubicado en Tampa, Florida; y el Carnival Paradise, que opera desde Long Beach, California, tienen previsto reposicionarse a sus nuevos puertos casa, por lo que cada uno ofrecerá un viaje de 14 días que proporcionará a sus consumidores una opción muy atractiva que incluye la experiencia de transitar por el Canal de Panamá.

El crucero del Carnival Paradise zarpará desde Long Beach hacia Tampa a partir del 28 de noviembre de 2011, mientras que el Carnival Inspiration partirá el 3 de diciembre de 2011, operando desde Tampa hacia Long Beach.
