The Panamanian President Gathers with the Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and Participates in the Panama Invest 2011

The Panamanian President, Ricardo Martinelli, will be meeting today with the Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Nick Clegg, during the third and last day of his visit to England, where he will also be participating in the Panama Invest 2011.

During this meeting, David Cameron, Prime Ministry of the United Kingdom, may also be joining them. This meeting will be taking place this evening at 10 Downing Street, the official residence and office of the First Lord of the Treasury.

The Panamanian President has also scheduled a meeting with Theresa May, Minister of Interior of the United Kingdom, and will be participating in the Panama Invest Conference 2011, which is intended to attract more investors to Panama.

In this conference, various Panamanian tour ministries and experts will present the attractions of Panama to the investors as well as accentuate that Panama is not a tax haven, as indicated by the Panamanian Government.

Last night, Martinelli highlighted the benefits of his country to the investors such as the low economic inflation, its important logistics infrastructures, and the high level of security that Panama provides.

During a conference last night at Canning House, known as the home for Hispanics in London, England, Martinelli stated that his administration has performed a “good job” to attract foreign investments to Panama, which expects 3 billion USD (2,200 billion euros) during this year in a country of 3.4 million people. However, it is acknowledged that this statistics should increase even more.
