Economic Growth in Panama Exceeds 8.5%, According to the IMF

The widening of the Panama Canal is advocating the economic growth and consumer demand in Panama. The economic growth is predicted to exceed 8.5% this year, which will convert Panama in one of the top growing countries within the Western Hemisphere, as reported by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) this past Monday.

According the IMF, in a press release at the end of regular economic consultations with Panamanian authorities, “the short-term perspectives are favorable, although the risks associated with the global economic activity and financial stability are on the rise.”

The International Monetary Fund stated that the economic inflation will probably remain relatively on the rise in Panama, but should gradually decrease, as the global raw material prices relinquish.
