Hotel Biddings Increase
The dynamic that the tourism industry in Panama is presenting continues to encourage more investors to increment the hotel biddings, while those investors that already exist seek an efficient technique to consolidate and augment their participation in the hotel bidding process. Ernesto Orillac, Vice Minister of the Tourism Authority of Panama, reported that the hotel business is well positioned through the joint efforts of the Panamanian government and private companies.
For the 2012, Panama is expected to have approximately 25,000 hotel rooms, and for the year of 2013, it is expected to have 30,000. Edgardo Reyes, Operations Manager of the Vitoria Hotel, expects an increment of travelers who want to learn more about what Panama has to offer. Reyes also stated that the South American population has reached a number of approximately 275,000 tourists, who arrived in Panama during the first 6 months of this current year, followed by tourists from the United States, Asia, and Europe.
