In order to present the benefits that Panama offers to the public regarding medical travel, a Panamanian delegation participated in the IV World Medical Tourism and Global Healthcare Conference, held in Chicago, Illinois, United States.

Rubén Berrocal, National Secretariat of Science, Technology, and Innovation (SENACYT),, stated that Panama provides high-quality medical intervention at a lower costs compared to United States.

Berrocal expressed that ‘at this conference, many offer high-quality health care at a low cost. I am here to say that Panama goes beyond that: Panama offers a holistic healing experience to its foreign patients, as we have several value added and competitive benefits.’

Among these benefits, Berrocal listed safety and protection, referring to Panama as being one of the safest countries of the region.
