The Chinese New Year or Spring Festival, the largest and most important annual festival celebrated by the Chinese community, is approaching. This year, the Year of the Dragon is celebrated, and the Guangdong Association in Panama is organizing an exciting big event.
In Panama, the Chinese New Year celebration will be held from Sunday, January 22th through Monday, January 23th at the Atlapa Convention Center. The first day, the program is scheduled to start at 12:00PM and end at 8:00PM. The second day, all the exciting activities will start at 10:00AM and end at 8:00PM. Mr. Roberto Huang, President of the Chinese Guangdong Association of Panama, reported that 50 great artist will come from Chinathis year to perform at this important event.
The Year of the Dragon brings prosperity, and is an excellent year to get married and have children. Mr. Huang has prognosticated that this will be a venturous year for Panama. 3 lion dance teams are also performing at this event, one of them is formed by women, who will dance and jump 2 meter high tubes. As if it were not enough, visitors will also be able to see beautiful dancing girls. The greatest attraction of this festival will definitely be the martial arts dances of the Legendary Shaolin Temple. The Association also announced that a Chinese musical fireworks containership is currently on its way to Panama for the closing ceremony.
