International Crafts Fair

The event will be held at the Coopeve Convention Center in Santiago

More than 50 artisans from 10 countries will participate in the first Latino Festival of Crafts (FINLART), to be held from February 8th to February 12th in the city of Santiago, Province of Veraguas. The event is organized by the Agro Artisanal Producers Association of Veraguas (APAAVE). Artisans from Costa Rica, Peru, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Chile, Paraguay, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, and Uruguay will be attending this event.

Rodriguez Rogers, president of the APAAVE, said that everything is ready for this international fair, which will be divided into two phases.

First phase: marketing and exchange workshops for artisans

Second phase: the fair, food samples, and typical dances of the participating regions.

Rogers said that this event was organized by Veraguas artisans, who have had the opportunity to see similar events in other countries such as Feria Costa Rica Creativa.

Up until now, the support of government institutions and private enterprises has been fundamental, especially because it is the first time that there will be an international gathering for artisans from other countries in the Republic of Panama—in this case, held in the city of Santiago.
