La Candelaria Fair

La Candelaria Fair will be inaugurated today, in Bugaba District, Province of Chiriquí. The economy activity is estimated to exceed $500,000 within the 10 days of the fair, according to the Fair Organizing Committee.

This money is generated by services such as hotels, transportation, and restaurants, said Ricardo Gonzalez, President of the Board of Candelaria Fair.

$40,000 have been invested for this event and improvements to the agricultural sector facilities have also been made, being this one of the most strongest activities in the district.

During the event, held from January 27th through February 5th, there will be about 50 exhibitors, including artisans from Central America and Panama.

In addition, private companies engaged in the sale of cars and telephones as well as government institutions will also be participating at this event.

Folkloric groups from Costa Rica, Colombia, and Mexico will perform on February 4th on the stage shows.

The following activities are scheduled within the livestock committee calendar: dairy cattle judging on January 28th, European livestock judging on January 29th, and zebu cattle judging on February 4th.

Tomorrow, there will be a recognition ceremony for Cecilia Montero, dairy producer; Arturo Saldana, producer of meat; and Juan Batista, dairy and Europe livestock producer.
