Sun, Music, and Art in Casco Antiguo

The U.S. Embassy and Create Invest along with musicians from the Jed Levy Quartet and 40 youth from the 'VeraneArte' program of official Office of Casco Viejo were all part of a day full of rhythm, art and education.

Ambassador Phyllis Powers accompanied the children while creating works of art inspired by jazz music.

The Jed Levy Quartet is a jazz group that was invited to join this invent in Panama by the U.S. Embassy as part of its support for the Panama Jazz Festival 2012.

The American musicians collaborated with Panamanian artists such as Karla Lamboglia and Rolando Silks to offer young people the opportunity to express themselves artistically. The program showed the diversity of American culture and promoted creative, positive, and non-violent ways of expression and community building.
