In the province of Bocas del Toro, on the Caribbean border with Costa Rica, bicycles and boats outnumber cars, and the colorful wooden houses in Bocas Town, on Colon Island , look like a rainbow along the seashore.

At about an hour's drive west from Coronado is a quiet and friendly town with the surfer's spirit called El Palmar. Located just past San Carlos, the road leading to this area can be easily confused. Contadora Island is located on the far north end of Pearls Archipelago. This archipelago is the Pacific version of the popular islands of Bocas del Toro and San Blas located in the Caribbean.
