Over 30 Panamanian students will have the opportunity to participate in three new programs for innovation and competitiveness starting May 2012.

The initiative is the result of an alliance signed between The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars and Panama, through the National Secretariat for Science, Technology and Innovation. The programs will be held in Washington, and will include academic programs and a forum for innovation and competitiveness.

National and international experts in the field of infrastructure will exchange ideas and trends in April.

More than 40 experts from 10 countries will attend the International Congress on Engineering and Infrastructure, to be held in Panama City from April 18-20, 2012.

The event, organized by the Panama Canal Authority (ACP), will address over 10 issues related to the Canal expansion and other projects to be developed in the country.

The product was presented at the tourism fair organized by the Colombian Association of Travel Agencies.

Air travel will no longer be the only way to travel between Colombia and Panama.

In addition to the official representation, 18 Panamanian companies, including hotels and tour operators, will participate in this year's tourism fair.

Panamanian authorities will hold about 13 meetings with German tour operators during the ITB tourism fair, that began yesterday in the city of Berlin, Germany.

The tourism event is attended by 188 countries, with 200, 000 visitors in attendance. Highlights of the Panamanian tourism offers include products such as Travel Insurance, the Stop Over, the free Atlapa Convention Center and connection with airlines like Condor, Iberia and KLM, totaling more than 3, 000 seats in weekly flights from Europe to Tocumen.
