Today Lance Armstrong announced he is returning to his triathlon roots with a new partnership with Ironman that will bring more than $1 million to LIVESTRONG. As part of the partnership, Armstrong will compete as a professional athlete in several Ironman and Ironman 70.3 races this year, including this weekend’s Ironman 70.3 Panama.
Last year, 65 percent of tourists entered the country through the Tocumen International Airport, consolidating the airport as the main port of entry for visitors.
1,300,392 visitors entered Panama through Tocumen, representing an increase of 12.7% compared with statistics from 2010.
Domestic triathletes have met a rigorous plan of preparation and bet on home advantage
Panamanian triathletes completed a hard preparation period of at least five months in order to face the Latin American Pro Ironman 70.3 Panama Championship.
In order to promote and increase the logistics industry, as one of the engines of Panama’s socio-economic growth and to coordinate the logistics strategies together with the public sector, the most important unions in the private sector created the Business Logistics Council (COLE).
The council aims to improve responses to the specific needs of the sector and contribute to the vision of turning Panama into the worldwide maritime and logistics services platform.
The presence of the international chain Starwood Hotels, Resorts Worldwide has increased to six hotels in Panama, with the inauguration of Westin Playa Bonita on January 27, 2008. Westin Playa Bonita was developed by Bern Hotel & Resort—the first of this luxury brand—and located west and only 20 minutes away from the Capital City.
