Panama City, June 6, 2012. - This week the Panama Canal is meeting with clients, businesses and authorities of the seaindustry in China, Japan and South Korea to reaffirm communication relations with its Asian customers and present the impact that the expansion of this waterway will have on this region.

The Panama Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in conjunction with the Panama Chamber of Tourism present the third version of International Tourism Expo 2012.

International Tourism Expo will be held on September 28 and 29, 2012 at the Atlapa Convention Center.

The Panama Tourism Authority (ATP) will participate in various events in Europe, North America and South America.

A calendar of fair events is pending to promote the country in other nations that are interesting at a tourism level.

Tourist destinations such as Bocas del Toro, El Valle and Guna Yala will be promoted.

Panama is going through a good economic period, compared to many countries in the region, particularly with increasing tourist arrivals and companies with foreign capital that are looking to expand their operations on the isthmus.

Entrepreneurship in Panama has increased in the last two years, from 9.6% in 2009 to 20.8% in 2011. This is reported in an investigation that measures Early Entrepreneurial Activity (TEA) known as Gobal Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM).

The Ngäbe Bugle culture also includes the art of shamans, who use the dances to communicate with their ancestors and seek energy.

Traditional dances and customs of the Ngäbe Bugle people, deeply rooted in the daily coexistence with elements of nature, are a tribute to the preservation of animal species, forests and rivers that are often in danger of extinction.

The second busiest U.S. tourist company, Apple Vacations, will include Panama in its catalog of destinations, with the intention of generating more direct sales for the Isthmus route.
