Enjoy the tropic

A country of varied surroundings and many options, Panama offers many opportunities for outdoor activities and recreation under intense blue of the tropical sky. An ample range of possibilities are offered to the visitor eager for new experiences, some relaxing and others intense. A calm afternoon of golf, or a placid stroll through the sandy beaches, contrasts with an extreme day of river rafting or the encounter with the vertiginous waves of the Pacific Ocean. To climb the volcano or to enter in the mysterious jungles are also options to enjoy the enchantment the tropic.

One of the two volcanoes in the country, the Volcán Barú offers visitors the opportunity to climb to its top and spend the night in the extensive valley formed by its crater.  The volcano is not extinct.  However, it is inactive and has been for centuries.  The steep slopes of the high mountain are  ideal for activities such as trekking and hiking, or walking through the narrow paths of nature and rocks, given they are covered by an exuberant humid forest, with gigantic threes covered by moss and liquens. During the walk upward, a little more than four hours, you have the opportunity to observe unique  bird species, such as the beautiful quetzal.  The near villages are very picturesque, and the satisfactory temperature, as well as the exquisite mountain landscape, form the perfect scenery tor the activity.
In Panama golf has been played for decades. That rich history has given the sport great popularity and expansion, and today  there are numerous  golf courses, some of them designed by world known architects such as Jack Nicklaus.  Once a year various national and international tournaments have taken place in the Panama Golf, Panama Conquest, which is part of the Nationwide Tour.
Panama is a country irrigated by hundreds of rivers that flow into the Caribbean and Pacific shores, some of them are very large and filled with strong currents. In some of them, river rafting is widely practiced. River rafting is an extreme sport for those who enjoy the adrenaline rush, delivered by sailing downstream through the rapids, using flotable boats. The beautiful landscapes that can be seen through the lenght of the river are the perfect complement to the intense experience of these dare-devil-explorers, who seek adventure in these agitated waters.
