The act took place in Metro's rail yards and workshops in Albrook, in the township of Ancón.
Each train has three cars that measure 3.85 meters high and 2.71 meters wide and have the capacity to carry 200 people, so each train will be able to transport 600 people.
At the event, Martinelli confirmed that he has ordered an extension of Line One to the San Isidro sector, in the San Miguelito district, which will mean an additional one-kilometer stretch of elevated tracks.
In this regard, the Secretary of the Panama Metro, Roberto Roy, explained that an addendum will be made on the existing contract, and commented that they are still studying the cost of this extension.
The official reminded those in attendance that the train system will be operational in February 2014.
