Festival Abierto Announcement

'Culture is our Ship' is the slogan that identifies the third year of the Festival Abierto, to take place on the grounds of the Omar Recreation and Cultural Park on March 22nd and 23nd, commemorating the anniversary of the union of the two seas and the cultural exchange it sparked, such as the benefits and consequences brought by the construction of the Panama Canal.

First Lady of the Republic Marta Linares de Martinelli attended a press conference where the relevant details were announced on this activity that has brought together more than 40,000 people in its first two years, according to figures from Melissa Correa, president of the foundation organizing the event, ParqueArte.

Also present at the activity were Jong Hwa Duly Lee, Executive Director of Planning, and María Gilma Arrocha, Legal and Artistic Manager, both Festival Open organizers; INAC Arts Director, Rodrigo Farrugia; the mayor of the district of Panama, Roxana Méndez; and representatives of the SENACYT and National Tourism Authority.
