Country now hosting three conventions daily

In just the seven days left in April, Panama is set to hold 22 international events that will add an additional 39,309 nights in hotels in the country.

The president of the Panamanian Hotel Association (APATEL), Jorge Loaiza, reported that the country's Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) has scheduled major international congresses, conventions, and other events from April to December 2014.

Among the most significant events are the XI Latin American Congress of Videosurgery (ALACE), the meeting of the American Association of Spanish and Portuguese Teachers, the Latin American & Carribean Tyre Expo, the Annual ASCE Conference with EWB, and the International Wedding Expo.

"Panama's existing supply in this field is constantly improving, and the infrastructure is being adapted to meet demand," Loaiza added.
